Our advice

Budget gaming: the 24G411A at 89 € — at an all-time low, it has no rivals.

Best for most gamers: the 27GS60QN at 159 €, also at an all-time low.

Productivity: the LG 27US550 4K at 178 €.

To complete your setup, here are also our rankings of the best gaming mice and the best wireless headphones, again with verified prices.

What is the best-value monitor in August 2026?

The LG UltraGear 24G411A at 89 € from MediaWorld (144 Hz, FreeSync, all-time low) for anyone starting from scratch; the UltraGear 27GS60QN at 159 € from Unieuro if you want QHD and 180 Hz. Both are at their lowest price ever today.

Is an OLED monitor worth it for gaming?

If you play competitive titles, yes: the LG 27GX700A offers 280 Hz and 0.03 ms, figures an LCD cannot match. At 489 €, though, it costs three times as much as an excellent 180 Hz QHD: it is a purchase for enthusiasts, not a necessity.

Is it better to buy monitors on Amazon or at the chains?

According to our 26 August check, the chains almost always win: the 27GX700A OLED costs 45 € less at Comet/Unieuro than on Amazon, and the models at their all-time low (89 € and 159 €) are at MediaWorld and Unieuro.

The prices shown were recorded on 26 August 2026 by our multi-retailer monitoring system and may change. All-time lows refer to the history of our own price tracking.
