Automatic top-up for the Fastweb SIM

For its pay-as-you-go plans, Fastweb relies on an Automatic Top-up mechanism: this means the plans can only be activated by paying from a bank account or a credit card, the details of which must be provided when you sign the contract. Each month, the operator checks the remaining credit on the SIM to make sure it is enough to renew the plan. If the credit is not sufficient, a top-up is made and the amount needed is charged, precisely, to the bank account or credit card. Customers can also go to any Sisal retailer or a tobacconist to top up their phone: if they don’t, Fastweb does it for them.

How to top up from the website

Another way to top up the Fastweb SIM is to go online, visit the company’s website and then select the payment method you prefer: you can choose between the PayPal service and a charge to your credit card. Payments can be made with a credit card on the Mastercard, Visa or American Express network, provided it was issued in our country; alternatively, you can use a card belonging to a customer who registered with PayPal through its Italian site.

Mobile Base

Fastweb’s basic mobile plan is called, fittingly, Mobile Base, and it offers 100 SMS to everyone, 100 minutes of calls to all Italian numbers and 1 GB of 4G data with unlimited WOW FI for 2.95 euros a month, falling to 1.95 euros for those who are already Fastweb fixed-line customers. The first month is free, and if you activate online the SIM is posted to your home at no cost.

Mobile Voce e Giga

A pricier and richer plan is Mobile Voce e Giga, which provides 100 SMS to everyone, 1000 minutes to all Italian numbers and 30 GB of 4G data with unlimited WOW FI. It costs 6.95 euros a month only for those who are already fixed-line customers; if you are not, the price is 10.95 euros a month, but you get 10 GB rather than 30. Here too the first month is free.

Mobile Freedom

If you want unlimited calls, the Fastweb offer to look at is Mobile Freedom, which adds 30 GB of data and 100 SMS for 9.95 euros for fixed-line customers and 14.95 euros for everyone else, but with 20 GB instead of 30.

Activating a SIM in a shop

If you decide to activate a Fastweb SIM in one of the authorised shops, you pay 21 euros: 16 euros are needed for the first top-up, and 5 euros for the SIM must be added to that. Of course, the top-up amount is available as credit. When your data runs out, there is a 2-euro charge for an extra 1 GB, but you cannot exceed 10 GB of extra data each month. There is no connection fee for calls.
