The Indoor Cam E220 is the one I've kept in the living room and the kitchen since day one. For under €50, it does things that indoor cameras at twice the price don't: a genuinely motorised PTZ, AI tracking that follows the dog around the lounge, native HomeKit Secure Video. After a year and a half of continuous use, here are the details.
Category: 2K Pan & Tilt indoor camera with HomeKit Secure Video
Test period: in the living room and kitchen for over a year and a half
Review summary (for those in a hurry):
- What it is: an indoor camera with 2K (2304×1296) video, a motorised 360° PTZ + 96° tilt, AI tracking, sound detection (including a crying baby) and native HomeKit Secure Video
- Who it's for: anyone who wants a single indoor camera that does it all (pet/baby monitor, security, smart home) and works with HomeKit for less than €50
HomeKit Secure Video for under €50
There's one reason I picked the E220 over any old budget indoor camera: native HomeKit Secure Video. For anyone living in the Apple ecosystem, that means clips are end-to-end encrypted and stored in iCloud (included in the iCloud+ plan, from €2.99 a month, which you probably already have) with no third-party cloud service involved. No Eufy Cloud, no extra subscriptions, and integration with the iOS Home app is complete: live view, recordings, automations, a HomePod as an audio receiver.
HomeKit Secure Video in a camera under €50 is a rare find. Rivals such as the Tapo C225 or Aqara G3 sit in the same bracket, but with compromises. The E220 is the sweet spot.
360° PTZ + AI tracking: genuinely useful
The camera has a motorised pan/tilt mechanism that rotates 360° horizontally and covers 96° vertically. The interesting part is the AI tracking: when it detects a person or an animal, it follows them automatically. For keeping an eye on the dog in the living room, this is what sets it apart from fixed indoor cameras: you watch the dog as it moves all around the lounge, not just within the 130° cone of a fixed camera.
The PTZ motor is audible in a quiet room while it turns: it isn't intrusive, but it isn't silent. For a newborn's nursery, next to the cot, that's something to consider: the baby may notice the noise. In a living room, kitchen or hallway, you won't notice it.
Image quality
2K (2304×1296) sensor, 125° field of view. Good daytime brightness, with exposure handled well even with windows behind the subject. One important note for HomeKit users: HomeKit Secure Video limits resolution to 1080p, not 2K. If you want native 2K you have to use the eufy app. In practice, 1080p on an iPhone screen is more than enough for home use, but it's worth knowing.
Night vision is IR (black and white) up to about 7 metres: there's no colour night vision. For indoor use that's enough: in a properly dark room at night, the IR shows sharp detail.
Sound detection
The AI recognises different sounds: a crying baby, a barking dog, breaking glass, specific alarms. If you're using it as a baby monitor, that matters: the "baby is crying" notification on your iPhone arrives within 2–3 seconds of the crying starting, in time to step in. False positives: I've had them with music featuring children's voices and with the TV — manually choosing which sound types to detect in the settings solves it.
Storage: local microSD
The E220 supports microSD cards up to 128 GB (not included). A branded 64 GB microSD (Class 10 or higher) is enough for a month of clips with average use. Clips are encrypted locally. It works with the HomeBase 3 for centralised storage of up to 16 TB. No monthly fee in any case.
When the E220 is the right choice
Pet monitor: excellent, the AI tracking follows the animal. Baby monitor: excellent for daytime use; at night, with small children close to the camera, it's worth considering the noise of the PTZ motor. Home security: excellent, with 360° coverage + sound detection for specific alarms. If you want an indoor camera without HomeKit, the Indoor Cam C210 is a cheaper alternative with a 90 dB siren, or there's the fixed-lens C120.

Frequently asked questions
Does HomeKit Secure Video require iCloud? Yes, it requires an iCloud+ plan (from €2.99 a month, which you probably already have). Clips are stored encrypted in iCloud, with no limit on the number of cameras if you have iCloud+ 2 TB or higher.
Can I use it without HomeKit? Yes, perfectly well. The eufy app handles everything: live view, local clips on microSD, automations, family sharing. HomeKit is optional.
How noisy is the motor? You hear a slight hum while it turns (~30 dB, by my estimate). With the TV or music on in the room, it's inaudible. For baby monitoring with newborns who are very sensitive to noise, consider the fixed C120.
Can it automatically follow my dog? Yes. With pet detection + motion tracking on, the camera turns to keep the dog in the centre of the frame as it moves. It works better in rectangular rooms (living room, kitchen) than in small spaces.
What's the difference from the C210? The Indoor C210 is 1080p (not 2K) and has a built-in 90 dB siren, but no HomeKit. It costs about €10 less. Pick according to whether you want HomeKit.
What's the difference from the C120? The C120 is fixed (no PTZ), 2K, with HomeKit Secure Video and sound detection. It costs a few euros less than the E220. Pick according to whether you need PTZ.
